	Professor Bengt SAMUELSSON - Former President, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm


	Professor Samuelsson is Professor of Physiological Chemistry and former President of the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. His research over the years has focused on prostaglandins and leukotrienes. For this work he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1982. Dr. Samuelsson is currently Chairman of the Nobel Foundation. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Svenska Handelsbanken AB, a Swedish bank, and of Pharmacia & Upjohn and The Liposome Company. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Odlander Fredrikson & Co. AB.
