Maarten Beekman - Vice President Clinical Development & Medical Affairs
	Dr.Maarten Beekman has an M.D. degree from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands (1987) and started his Pharmaceutical career in 1988 at Eli Lilly as a Clinical Research Physician.  He has a broad experience in international clinical development, including biostatistics and data management, medical writing, SOP management and training as well as CRO contracting and management.  Before joining NicOx in July 2005 as Vice President Clinical Development, he was heading up the French office of i3 Research, a therapeutically specialized full service CRO (Paris, France). Before that he was Global Vice President, Clinical Development of Orion Pharma (Espoo, Finland).  From 1996-2001 he worked as European Director, Clinical Development for Allergan (Sophia Antipolis, France) and was in addition Global e-Clinical Project Leader, developing and implementing its e-clinical strategy (Irvine, USA). Before he took in 1993 the position of Director Clinical Development for Genetics Institute of Europe (Paris, France), a US Biotechnology company, he worked during three years for Organon Teknika as Manager, Clinical Services (Turnhout, Belgium).  During the last 6 years he has developed a specific interest and gained extensive experience in developing the emotional intelligence (INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France) and in change management (Henley, UK).
