Dr. Göran ANDO - Former CEO, Celltech Group

Dr. Ando served as Chief Executive Officer of Celltech Group plc until its acquisition by UCB was completed in 2004. He joined Celltech from Pharmacia where he was Executive Vice President and President of R&D, with additional responsibilities for manufacturing, IT, business development and M&A from 1995 until 2003.

Prior to that, Dr. Ando spent six years at Glaxo Group starting in 1989 as Medical Director, moving to Deputy R&D Director and finally R&D Director. Dr. Ando was also a member of the Glaxo Group Executive Committee.

Born in Sweden, Dr. Ando is a Specialist in General Medicine and is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology in the United States.
